Maura (Landi) Lucchesi

Seneca Falls - Maura Lucchesi, 92 of W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY died Tuesday (September 13, 2016) at her residence. Family and friends may attend her Memorial Mass on Saturday (September 17) at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. There will be no prior calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Food Pantry at the House of Concern, 35 State St., Seneca Falls, NY or the Seneca Falls Backpack Program, P.O. Box 306, Seneca Falls, NY 13148. Maura was born in Arni, Italy on April 7, 1924 the daughter of the late Alfonso & Maria Cagnoni Landi. She had resided in Seneca Falls since she was 13 years old coming from Italy. She had been employed by the former Seneca Knitting Mill of Seneca Falls. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, the Guild and Altar Society of her church, the S.M.S Auxiliary, & the Catholic Daughters of America, all of Seneca Falls. Maura enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends at their cottage on Cayuga Lake. Most of all, she loved the times with her 6 children and her grandchildren, some of whom she had watched over as they grew up. She is survived by: 4 daughters - Nancy Hollenbeck - Seneca Falls, NY Rita (Jack) Gravina - Seneca Falls, NY Joanne (Thomas) Calabro - Columbus, Ohio Diane (Patrick) Muscarella - Penfield, NY 2 sons - David (Tricia) Lucchesi - Canandaigua, NY Joseph (Grace) Lucchesi - Camillus, NY 11 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, Maura was predeceased by her husband, Peter Lucchesi who died October 4, 1992 and 1 sister, Laura Sandroni who died November 11, 2009.
