Seneca Falls - Maurice "Joe" J. Donoghue, 86 of Seneca Falls, NY, died Wednesday July 20, 2016. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls on Monday, July 25 from 4 - 7 PM. Joe's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 26 at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, with Reverend Roy Kiggins as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, NY. If desired, contributions may be made to Canoga Fire Department, 3576 Route 89, Seneca Falls,, NY 13148 Joe was born and raised in Rochester, NY He earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Michigan State University and pursued a career in higher education and retired from Rochester Institute of Technology/ Eisenhower College. Joe had been a volunteer for Seneca County Meals on Wheels and for many of the events sponsored by the Canoga Fire Department. He was also an avid golfer. He is survived by: 2 brothers - William Donoghue and John "Jack" Donoghue. His sister-in-law - Josephine Donoghue Several nieces and nephews Many wonderful friends In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by 1 brother, Jerry Donoghue and 2 sisters, Margaret Blodgett and Helen Mikel Joe was a friend to many. His family extends heartfelt thanks and appreciation to his caring neighbors at the lake and his many friends around Seneca Falls, Rochester and beyond.
