Maurice E. "Moe" Wright

Seneca Falls: Maurice "Moe" Wright, of Seneca Falls, passed away on Monday, October 17th, 2022 at Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 84. A private funeral service was held at the convenience of the family. Moe was born in Troy, NY, the only son of the late Reverend Everett and Maude (Cowan) Wright. Being that Moe's father was a Lutheran minister, his youth was spent moving from town to town. Once Moe was old enough, he enlisted in and proudly served in the US Navy. While in the Navy, Moe was stationed in Iceland as well as the island country of Malta. Upon his return stateside, Moe moved to Seneca Falls to start anew. It was there that he met the former Joanne DeJohn and the two were united in marriage in February of 1962, a blessed union of over 60 years. Throughout his life, Moe enjoyed cars of all kinds. In his early 20's he enjoyed drag racing and later years he enjoyed NASCAR; always rooting for Dale Earnhardt Sr. and later his son, Dale Jr. Moe's pride and joy was his 1957 Chevy that he spent countless hours restoring. He also loved putting together jigsaw puzzles and would make his way out to del Lago to play some games when time allowed.

Moe is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne, and their children; Christine (Steven) Cracknell and David (Connie) Wright; grandsons, Nicholas, Joshua, and Jacob; brother-in-law, Henry Blosser; niece, Lynn Blosser; nephew, Jeffrey Blosser; as well as extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Moe was predeceased by his sister, Miriam Blosser.
