Seneca Falls - Melvin N. Martin, 71, of Gravel Rd., Seneca Falls, NY passed away on Friday (November 9, 2018 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Arlene Hurst Martin of Seneca Falls.
Family and friends may call at the Finger Lakes Fellowship Center, Route 414, Seneca Falls, on Monday (November 12) from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (November 13) at 9:30 AM at Maple View Mennonite Church, Town of Junius, NY. Burial will be in Maple View Mennonite Cemetery next to his church. The family requests the omission of flowers.
Melvin was born in Millcreek Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania on January 26, 1947 the son of the late Christian S. & Anna N. Martin. He was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church in the Town of Junius, NY. Melvin owned & operated a dairy farm in the Town of Tyre. He, also, had worked as a grader & buyer of cattle for Good's Livestock, Waterloo, NY.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons and 5 daughters. Marlin Ray (Janet) Martin, Lebanon, PA., Sharon Louise, wife of Dean High, Seneca Falls, NY, Carl H. (Elizabeth) Martin, Seneca Falls, NY, Linda H., wife of Melvin Lee High of Seneca Falls, NY, Susan H., wife of Linford Martin of Seneca Falls, NY, Charlene H., wife of Lynford Martin of Waterloo, NY, & RoseAnna H., wife of Nathan Zimmerman of Kutztown, PA.
41 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren
2 brothers & 2 sisters. Irvin N. Martin, Shippensburg, PA., Christian S. Martin Jr., Hagerstown, MD., Elizabeth, wife of Melvin Wenger, Denver, PA., AnnaMae, wife of Clarence Martin, Seneca Falls, NY, 2 sisters-in-law, Verna G. Martin of Reamstown, PA. & Laura H. Martin, Ephrata, PA. and 1 brother-in-law, Clarence L. Horst husband of Erla Oberholtzer Horst, Myerstown, PA.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was predeceased by 2 brothers, Clayton N. Martin, Ivan N. Martin & 1 sister, Mabel M. Horst.
