Michael F. Hollister, 77, of Auburn, and previously of Union Springs, passed at Auburn Community Hospital, on Sunday, October 3rd, 2026. In keeping with Mike’s wishes, there are no public services.

Mike was born in Syracuse, son of the late Frederick and Rosamond (Bova) Hollister. On July 16th, 1988, he was united in marriage with Judith Hollister. Mike and Judy shared in 29 years of marriage together, before Judy’s passing in 2018. The couple had lived in Union Springs for several years.

Mike had worked for the city of Syracuse, Parks and Recreation Department before he faced a career ending injury. Mike’s passions in life included coaching youth hockey, playing golf, and he loved all things, James Bond. Mike’s happy place was Cape Cod, where he would take his family on annual vacations.

Mike is survived by his son, Jay (Marietta) Hollister; stepdaughter, Sara Sterling; grandchildren, Brian, Jayden, Jarrett, and Blake Hollister, Evan Cross; brothers, John and Robert Hollister; and a very special friend, Doug. In addition to his parents and wife, Mike was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Wright.
