Waterloo- Nancy A. Milliman, 78 of Waterloo and Romulus, NY went to be with her Lord on August 10, 2024 after enduring two extended illnesses. She is survived by her husband David Milliman, son Timothy (Sarah), daughter Kathleen (Nick), brother James (Carol) Baker, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents James and Elsie (Edgett) Baker and sister Margaret (Baker) (John) Hines.
Nancy was born on April 5, 1946 in Waterloo, NY where she attended Waterloo Central Schools, which would later become her employer. Nancy’s high school sweetheart, David, became her future husband of 56 years after they both attended SUNY Oswego. Their first date was a party at the home of David’s basketball coach, Bill Carey. That same home on Norris Drive was later purchased by Nancy and David, and they lived there for over 20 years raising their two children, Timothy and Kathleen. Besides being a loving wife and mother, Nancy was a dedicated educator for Waterloo Central Schools. She was an elementary school teacher and later principal at Skoi-Yase Elementary School. She touched the lives of many children, and she was an advocate for those with special needs. She was known for always prioritizing the needs of the children in her school. Later in retirement, Nancy lived with David on Cayuga Lake at Elm Beach, which was the same beach she visited as a child at her grandfather Bert Edgett's cottage. Nancy was always there to support her family. She hosted family and many of her children’s visiting friends with open arms.
Heaven gained another wonderful angel in Nancy, and we know she will be watching over us as she has always done so well. Per Nancy's wishes, there are no calling hours. She prefers you remember your best moments with her from her remarkable life.
