Robert C. Bogdanovitch, 80, of Waterloo, passed away at Huntington Living Center on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022. In keeping with Robert's wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Waterloo Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of his family. Donations in memory may be made to an animal rescue of choice or to the National Federation of the Blind, 200 East Wells Street at Jernigan Place, Baltimore, Maryland 21230.
Robert was born in Hartford, CT, the son of the late Robert and Caroline (Brace) Bogdanovitch, Sr. He relocated to Waterloo in 1960 and has called it home ever since. He worked for Gould's Pumps for a few years before taking employment with Xerox in Webster, NY as a Machinist. Bob retired from Xerox after a 35 year career with them. Bob was known around town as "The Candyman" because he always had a pocket full of candy that he loved sharing with others and dog biscuits for the dogs he came across. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt, competed in and won many archery tournaments, enjoyed bowling, and especially loved music and dancing. Bob found great pleasure in putting a smile on others' faces.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Yvonne (Duane Lawson) Bogdanovitch; son, Robert D. Bogdanovitch; step-son, Dale (Cindy) Barton; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren as well as many friends and extended family. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Lillian in 2011 and his feline companions, Jasper and Moose.
Robert's family asks those that knew him to enjoy a piece of candy in his memory.
