Rocky E. Varricchio, lifelong resident of Seneca Falls, passed away at his home surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, September 18th 2025. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 24th from 4:30PM-6:30PM, with a funeral service to immediately follow at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard Street, Seneca Falls. Rocky was born in Seneca Falls, son of the late Arthur and Betty (McNabb) Varricchio. He began his career at GTE Sylvania before transitioning to Goulds Pumps, where he retired in 2014 after 40 years of dedicated service. He spent those 40 years working in the foundry, machine shop, stockroom, and run test, as well as serving multiple positions within the United Steelworkers Union Local 3298. It was not the work that Rocky loved so much but the camaraderie he shared with his coworkers and friends over those years. During the late 1970’s, Goulds had a softball league at Vince’s Park where Rocky played 2nd and 3rd base.

Rocky was an active member and past commander of the Seneca Falls Kirk-Casey Post 366 Sons of the American Legion. He was proud to participate in parades and military funerals as a member of the Honor Guard and Color Guard honoring those who served, as well as his country. He was a proud American who loved the USA.

When not working or volunteering with the American Legion, Rocky enjoyed hosting parties for his family and friends. He was known for his summer parties that were always filled with live music, drinks, and great food.

Rocky is survived by his wife of 13 years, Laurie Varricchio; son, James (Sophia) Varricchio; new grandson who he loved very much, Lorenzo Varricchio; daughter, Bobbi (Scott) Maurer; sisters, Mary Ridley, and Wendy (Dan) Fletcher; brothers, Matthew (Karen) Varricchio, Mark Varricchio; aunts, Edith Felice, Dianne McNabb; stepmother, Patricia Varricchio; step-siblings, Kendra Kurtz, Kimberly (William) Lathrup; step-sister in law, Corinne Kurtz; as well as extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepbrother, Kenneth Kurtz.

It was his wish to conclude his obituary with Go Yankees, and Go Giants!
