Russell J. Pullano, 71, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2024. There will be no calling hours. Service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Russell was born on April 27, 1953, the son of Frank and Virginia (Lagana) Pullano. He graduated from DeSales High School in 1971, and later attended SUNY Brockport.
The oldest of four children, Russell was a classic “big brother” to his siblings, who all looked up to him. He was a successful entrepreneur and businessman in Hawaii for 25 years prior to returning to Geneva 17 years ago. He was an avid golfer, movie buff and enjoyed writing in his spare time.
A big sports fan, he coached several boy’s baseball and basketball teams in Geneva and even promoted a world title fight in the early 1980’s. He also loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, who adored their uncle and the games he created for them. His giving nature, love of family, and sense of humor will not be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan (Santilli) Pullano; stepmom Donna (Ralph) Barbalace; brother Frank (Lanice) Pullano Jr.; sisters, Liz Pullano and Kathy (Ed) Doody; sister-in-law, Sandra Santilli; nephews Reed (Lindsay) Doody and Jacob Pullano; nieces Mary (Sean) Horton and Hannah (Christopher) Redington; great nephews Colt Doody, Nolan Horton, and Brooks Redington; great nieces Gianna Doody, Lily Horton, and Adeline Redington. He was predeceased by his parents and infant sister Mary Frances.
A special thank you to Pam Mills and the hospice team for the excellent care they gave Russell during his final days. Donations in Russell’s memory can be sent to Ontario/Yates Hospice, 756 Pre Emption Rd., Geneva, NY.
