Waterloo/Seneca Falls - Teri Leigh Durso, 54, of Center St., Waterloo, NY, passed away peacefully Friday (December 20, 2013) surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. Family and friends may attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday (December 28) at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. There will be no prior calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Maureen's Hope Foundation, 6301 Mustang Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027 or to Pathway Home (Hospice House), P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, NY 13148. Teri was born in Seneca Falls, NY on July 19, 1959, the daughter of James R. & Geraldine A. Peterson Durso. She was a life resident of the Waterloo-Seneca Falls area and was employed for over 30 years with the Seneca County Sheriff's Department. In addition, she was a part of the Seneca County Sheriff's Department Dive Team. Teri was also a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls. She was active in the S.M.S. Bocce League and the Women's City Bowling League at the former Finger Lakes Bowl of Seneca Falls. She was a member of the S.M.S. Auxiliary. Teri greatly enjoyed spending time with all her nieces and nephews as well as cheering them on at their sporting events. She was an avid reader and a collector of Boyd's Bears, Cherished Teddies, Marie Osmond Dolls, Christmas Village, & the Days of Yesterday. She enjoyed classic T.V. and attending fireworks displays. She, also, enjoyed volunteering for functions such as the St. Mary's Festival. She is survived by: Her mother, Geraldine "Gerry" Durso - Waterloo, NY 1 brother - James G. "Butch" (Lin) Durso - Victor, NY 3 sisters - Karen (Michael Fallat) Durso - Auburn, NY Patty (Nori) Leader - Baldwinsville, NY Geri Kay (Michael) Forde - Waterloo, NY 7 nieces and nephews - Nicholas, Nicole, & Zach Leader, Tyler Durso, Brittanie, Halie, & Lainie Forde Several aunts and uncles Teri was predeceased by her father, James R. Durso and her grandparents, Gordon and C. Anna Peterson as well as V.J. and Jane Durso. Arrangements are under the direction of Doran Funeral Home, Seneca Falls, NY.
