Tracie M. Shane, 44, of Rochester NY, died peacefully November 15, 2018 after a short, but courageous battle. She was born to the late Francis Shane and Barbara (Sanpietro) Shane, on February 1, 1974 in Waterloo, NY.
Family and friends may call at Doran Funeral Home, 4 E Bayard St, Seneca Falls NY from 4-6pm on Wed, Nov 21. A memorial service to celebrate Tracie's life will follow at 6pm at the funeral home.
Tracie is survived by her son Lorenzo Alarcon-Shane, her brother Thomas F. Shane, Aunt Rosemary Sanpietro, many cousins and her close friends Luis Alarcon and Andrea Tillinghast.
Tracie graduated from Mynderse Academy, Seneca Falls NY in 1992 and received a BA in History and Foreign Languages from Elmira College in 1996. Her undergraduate studies included a year at La Sorbonne in Paris. Her Masters degree in Public History was awarded from New Mexico State University while she lived in Las Cruces, NM. While residing in San Francisco, she studied Museum Studies at San Francisco State University.
She was an avid traveler and loved adventure. Mardi Gras in the French Quarter, St. Patrick's Day on the Chicago River, Memorial Day in NYC, New Year's Day on the Pacific Ocean, Christmas in Chinatown, Summer on Rehoboth Beach, a birthday at Disney World, on a whim to Vegas, Louisville, DC...all of this and more was typical of Tracie and whoever was in tow.
Tracie also enjoyed spending time with her son, friends and family. She and Lorenzo were always having adventures. And no matter where she went, Seneca Falls was in her heart. She put that love to practice as she was an intern for the Historian at Women's Rights National Historical Park and volunteered at the Seneca Falls Museum.
Tracie will be missed and loved by her family and friends for eternity.
