Wendy O. (Olmstead) Ryan

SENECA FALLS - Wendy O. Ryan, age 70, passed away Monday
(November 22, 2021) surrounded by her family.

There will be no calling hours. A private celebration of her life will be held at
the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Wendy's
memory may be made to the Seneca County Children's Committee, an
organization she was deeply involved in for many years. Donations can be
sent to PO Box 692, Seneca Falls, N.Y. 13148.

Wendy was born in Seneca Falls, N.Y. on January 16, 1951, the daughter
of Louise and Philip Olmstead. Wendy was a 1969 graduate of Mynderse
Academy, and later, Keuka College.

In May 1974, she married the love of her life, Dr. Timothy J. Ryan, and had
two daughters, Emily and Kate. In addition to raising her family, Wendy was
involved in many local charities, including the United Way of Seneca
County for over 20 years, past-president and 40-year member of the
Seneca County Children's Committee and the Taylor Brown Auxiliary.

Wendy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
Positive, patient, and caring, she will be remembered for her
unquestionable love for her family and as a light in the lives of all that knew
her. Despite battling Multiple Sclerosis for over 40 years, she never dwelled
on her illness or allowed it to dim her outlook on life. Wendy loved spending
time on Cayuga Lake with her family, the beach in Sanibel Island, Florida,
and spoiling her grandchildren.

Wendy is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Dr. Timothy J.
Ryan; daughters, Emily (Robert) Markel and Kate (Roger) Austin;
grandchildren Rowan Markel, Reese Markel, Conley Markel, Quinn Austin
and Hadley Austin; and siblings Patricia Olmstead, Philip Olmstead and
Brian Olmstead.
