Seneca Falls: William L. Cirone, 93, of Seneca Falls, passed away on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 4th, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to North Seneca Ambulance, 1645 North Road, Waterloo, NY 13165.

Bill was born in Seneca Falls, NY on August 14th, 1929. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Ruth (Rusk) Cirone. He graduated from Mynderse Academy, Seneca Falls, in 1947 and enlisted in the US Army Air Force in December of that year. Bill served in the Army until November of 1952, thirteen months in the Korean War Zone with The Transportation Corps. Upon discharge, Bill was transferred to the inactive services and his final discharge was March of 1957. Bill also served 3 years with the Civilian Air Corps during WW II. During his time of service, Bill was awarded 4 medals, 2 presidential citations and was a decorated marksman.

In his early years, growing up during the depression, Bill contributed to his family, working several jobs and he enjoyed playing the drums. Bill was a member of The Mynderse Madmen and The Appleknockers Drum and Bugle Corps. He was widely known by his dog, Nipper, who followed him to school every day, then made the rounds to several businesses in the area to get his 'treats' and return to guard Bill's bike until it was time to follow him home. After his military service, Bill worked as an Insurance Investigator, for the Retail Credit Company in Geneva, NY, later a Premium Auditor and Loss Prevention Engineer for Equifax, from where he retired with 36 years of service.

Bill married Lottie E. Schweitz on November 6th, 1954, and they remained side by side, residing in Seneca Falls for 68 years. Lottie predeceased Bill on October 5th, 2022. In death as in life, they are together again, forever.

Bill was a member of the American Legion for over 60 years, and he enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Bill played many years in the local bowling and golf leagues. He won several trophies that he proudly displayed. Bill enjoyed working around the house ("puttering" he called it) and tending to his immaculate lawn. Mostly, he loved Sunday and holiday dinners with his family gathered around the table where he enjoyed telling stories. His love, wisdom and humor will be missed.

Bill is predeceased by his wife, Lottie, and his sister, Mary (Walter) Mills. He is survived by his daughters, Ellen McIntyre of Seneca Falls, Jean Cirone of Geneva, Joan (Alan) Evans of Binghamton; son, Mark (Melissa Bruder) Cirone of Phelps; six grandchildren, Collin, Madison, Megan, Joshua, Zac, and Morgan; nephews, William (Elaine) Mills of Houston, Daniel Mills of New Jersey; nieces, Anne Camarda of Florida, and Barbara (Terri) Chiasci, of Ithaca, as well as many family and friends.
