Seneca Falls/Lyons: DeLena T. (Pignone) Pacello, 99, passed peacefully on Friday, March 24th, 2023 at Avon Nursing and Rehabilitation. Calling Hours will be Tuesday, March 28th from 10AM until 12 NOON, where a Funeral Service will immediately follow, at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Interment will follow at St. Columbkille Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.
DeLena was born in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of the late Carl and Teresa (Laurino) Marino. She graduated from Mynderse Academy, Class of 1942. DeLena went on to work for various employers in the area including Sylvania and Brady & Sons Insurance Co., both of Seneca Falls, and later the Wayne County Probation Dept. Her travels in life found her spending many years in Seneca Falls before relocating to Lyons, and then ultimately to Geneseo in 2009. DeLena had great faith and was very involved at St. Michael's Church in Lyons and St. Mary's Church in Geneseo, where she was most recently a member. She was also an avid quilter, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
DeLena is survived by her daughter, Joanne (Daniel) Caraher; two step-children, John (Carol) Pacello and Jeannine (John) Moose; 10 grandchildren, Kristen (Patrick) McDermond, Tricia (James) Fitzmaurice, Stephanie (William) Mathewson, Ryan (Amy), Stephen (Kelly) and Jeffrey (Leah) Caraher, John (Brandy)
Pacello Jr., Shannon (Phil) Romano, Heather (Troy) Starling, John Nathan (Kari) Moose; twenty-six great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Dominick Pignone Jr. in 1995 and two husbands, Dominick Pignone Sr. in 1970 and Ralph Pacello in 2002.
