Dennis L. Camp

January 20, 1939 — January 27, 2021

Cayuga, NY: Passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, with his wife, Janet, by his side. Due to COVID-19, a graveside service will be held at a future date.

Born on January 20, 1939, in Waterville, NY, to the late Lynn and Mary (Smith) Camp. Dennis graduated from Waterville High School. Following high school, he worked for General Electric, before being drafted and serving in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1963-1965. After returning stateside, he worked as a Production Machinery Supervisor for the Seneca Army Depot for 26 years before retiring, and then G.W. Lisk Co. in Clifton Springs for another 11 years, before he became ill. He was a member of Kirk Casey American Legion Post 366 in Seneca Falls for over 50 years. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, but was passionate about the New York Yankees.

Dennis loved living on the lake. The Wheelhouse Restaurant in Hibiscus Harbor was where you would find him when the golf cart was missing from the house. His neighbors and friends will be planting a tree in his honor. The Wheelhouse Restaurant will also be honoring Dennis with a plaque in his memory.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was predeceased by his brother, Edwin Camp; nephew, Eddie Camp; mother-in-law, Marlette Morehouse; sister-in-law, Bonnie Mahoney; brother-in-law, Jack Mahoney; and his beloved aunt, Arlene Vivyan. Survived by his wife of 36 years, Janet (Bonard) Camp; his children, Sunday (Joe Kovalick) Camp of TN, Duane (Darles) Camp of SC, Rachael (Chris) Kirk of FL, Jennifer (Kirk) Hampton of AZ; grandchildren, Kadence Kovalick, Fisher Camp, Lila and Charlotte Kirk, and Avery Hampton; sisters-in-law, Kay (Mike) Harvey of CA, Linda (Larry) Adams of Jamestown, NY, Marlene Dooley of TX, and Carol Camp of Waterville, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Matthew Fink (nephew), Dr. Ralph Brasacchio, and Dr. Philip Wirth, and special thanks to the Rochester Regional Health Lifetime Care Home Health Services (Auburn branch).
