Georgianna "Georgie" Hibbard

March 3, 1934 — May 7, 2023

Geneva

Georgianna Hibbard, 89, passed away on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, in Living Center North, Geneva, NY, surrounded by her loving family. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, May 20th at 10 AM for a funeral service at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Burial will follow at Fox Cemetery, Black Brook Rd., Seneca Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Seneca Ambulance and the American Cancer Society.

Georgie was born on March 3, 1934, daughter of the late Carl S. and Dorothy Whitney (White) Hibbard in Seneca Falls, NY, where she lived her entire life. She was a 1953 graduate of Mynderse Academy and attended class reunions even after becoming a resident of Living Center North in Geneva.

Georgie worked in several restaurants in the area, including the Willows, Chick's Diner (now Connie's), and Sunset Bowl. Her last position of employment was as a school bus monitor for the Seneca Falls School District. She was a lifetime member of the Kirk Casey Post 366 of the American Legion, Seneca Falls and the Waterloo VFW.

She was a social butterfly in every sense of the word, making friends wherever she went. She was generous with her time and loyalty. She loved smiley faces and the color red, both of which expressed her vibrant personality. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to del Lago and other gaming venues.

Georgie was a second mother to her nieces and nephews. She was the fun aunt who could be counted on to bring fun to every occasion and with whom secrets could be shared. This special designation eventually extended to several generations.

Georgie is survived by her sister, Doris Steen, of Geneva and her brother, Carl Robert (Marilyn) Hibbard, of Shreveport, LA; many generations of nieces and nephews, and very special friends, too many to count.

Georgie is predeceased by her parents; brothers, Raymond Lee, Gerald Edward, and William (Mary) Hibbard, and several nephews.

Georgie's family wishes to express its sincerest appreciation for the care given Georgie by the staff at the Living Center North, Finger Lakes Health, Geneva, NY.
