Obituary

Helen "Jean" Hendrickson, 88, of Seneca Falls, passed away on September 12, 2021 at The Homestead at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, NY. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in memory may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 E. River St., Waterloo, NY 13165.

Jean was born in Romulus, NY, the daughter of the late Doc and Bertha (Kressler) Budman. She graduated from Phelps Central School and went on to further her education at the Freeman Business School in Syracuse. On February 7, 1953, she married Robert Hendrickson, a blessed union of over 60 years, until his passing in 2013. Jean had worked for and retired from Bank of America in Seneca Falls, after a career that spanned 28 years. She was also the owner of Jean's Antiques for 30+ years in Seneca Falls. She was well known in the area for her knowledge of antiques and shared her love of collectibles with longtime friend, Lorraine Hodgson of Newark, NY. Over her 88 years, Jean had many hobbies and interests. In her youth she enjoyed horseback riding and playing card games with her friends. She always liked to cook and bake, and anybody that had her homemade raspberry jam, loved it. Jean enjoyed gardening, always having fresh cut flowers in her home, and had a special place in her heart for animals, especially all of her beloved pet dogs. She was an avid reader who enjoyed reading all books but especially mystery novels.

Jean is survived by her son, Michael (Joan) Hendrickson; daughters, Elise (John) Agnello and Mary (Tony) DeStefano; grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin Roloson), James, Jason (Rosa) and Jennifer (Vinny) Hendrickson, Matthew (Jordan) Hendricks; many great-grandchildren, and her special nephews, Robert and John Budman. In addition to her parents and husband Robert, Jean is predeceased by her son, Daniel; brothers, Gordon and Bruce Budman, and sister, Marian DeCicca.

The family would like to thank Jean's special friends and neighbors, Patty Boyes, Amy and Gerry Updyke, and Mimma and Ray Kisor who were always there to lend a helping hand, as well as the employees of Unit 3 of The Homestead at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan for their care and compassion during Jean's short stay.
