Janice B. (Buerman) Griffin

Seneca Falls: Janice B. Griffin, 86, of Lower Lake Rd., passed away on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021, with her family by her side. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 1st, 2021 at 5PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY. Interment to take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Pultneyville, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Seneca County Children's Committee, c/o Seneca County United Way Inc., PO Box 623, Waterloo, NY 13165.

Jan was born the daughter of the late Ralph and Dora Buerman of Sodus, NY. She graduated from Sodus Central School and received her B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education from SUNY Brockport as well as her M.S. degree in Health and Physical Education from Ithaca College. Jan spent her teaching days in the Clyde, Union Springs, and Valley Central School districts and later becoming the first Director of the Seneca County Youth Bureau where she developed and implemented programs for Seneca County youth from 1977 until 2000.

She leaves her daughter, Susan (Ray) Griffin-Carmichael; son, Steven Griffin; grandchildren, Shannon and Ryan Key, Shawna and Stone Griffin; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Buerman; as well as extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Shaune.
