Mike was born in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Stephen and Victoria Matuszkiewicz. He attended local schools and graduated from Bishop Ryan High School, Class of 1969. It was in the late 1970's that Mike relocated to Seneca Falls to take employment with Goulds Water Technologies. A career that spanned decades; he retired in 2011.
Mike was united in marriage with the former Sherry Hares in July of 1990, and the couple has been side by side ever since, sharing 33 years together.
Mike had many passions in life including the Buffalo Bills, antique cars, and golfing. For many years Mike and his wife, Sherry, attended Syracuse Nationals to see all the classic cars, and he was also very proud of his 1973 Mustang. He enjoyed travelling and visiting with family that were scattered all over the country as well as spending time with his lifelong friends from Buffalo who were known as the "Goomers."
Mike is survived by his wife, Sherry; son, Michael "Mick" (Jennifer); grandson, Michael K., sister, Kathleen (Mike) Wilk; brother, Stephen (Susan); as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
