Seneca Falls - Richard J. Compo, 91 of George Rd., Seneca Falls, NY died Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Geneva General Hospital. His wife of over 53 years, Grace D. Compo, predeceased him in 2012. Family & friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, from 4-8 PM on Monday, September 13, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday morning, September 14th at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Burial will follow in Springbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165.

Richard (Dick) was born in Adams Center, NY on January 7, 1930, and was the son of the late Roy and Grace (Stumpf) Compo. He was predeceased by his sisters, Janice and Jenny, and brother, Tommy. He is survived by his son and main caregiver, Joseph (Randy); son, Jeffery (Robin); daughter, Kim (Lee) Raymond; daughter, Joanne (James) Barbati and son, James (Susan) Wilcox; sister, Carol (Frank) Williams who currently resides in Naples, FL. He has seven grandchildren who love their Papa very much, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Dick was an Army Veteran, served in the Korean War and frequently met with his Army brothers.

Dick graduated from RIT in Rochester and was the President of the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce for his entire career. He was involved in many organizations and was recognized with numerous awards for his dedication to his community. This included the Lifetime Achievement Award given by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce which was attended by numerous guests including local politicians. He was well known for starting the Aqua Festival that ran for several years in Seneca Falls, he was President of the Seneca County Fair for 30 years as well as many other events that brought notoriety to Seneca County. He was a J.C., a Rotarian, as well as a life member of the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992.

The family would like to acknowledge and extend their heartfelt thanks to Lifetime Care of the Finger Lakes, Canandaigua's VA visiting nurses & PT staff and his personal favorite aid, Arlene Thompson.
