Richard "Dick" D. Jarrett

SENECA FALLS - Richard "Dick" D. Jarrett, 84 of Seneca Falls, N.Y., passed away on Sunday (January 3, 2021) at Geneva General Hospital after a brief battle with COVID19.

Dick was born on June 8, 1936 to Stanley and Louise Jarrett and was a lifelong resident of Seneca Falls. After graduating from Mynderse Academy in 1954, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving for three years. After the Navy, he began working at GTE Sylvania and then Philips and ultimately retiring from JCPenney.

Anyone who knew Dick, knows that his greatest passion was running. He completed several marathons, half-marathons and 5 and 10 K races too numerous to count. He could often be found jogging the streets of Seneca Falls and also enjoyed volunteering as Race Director for many local races.

Dick is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Corky; his two sons Jim (Scott Willems) of Madison, Wis. and Jeff (Deborah) of Webster, N.Y.; his daughter, Judi (Seth) Hoffer, also of Webster, N.Y.; his four grandchildren Emily, Abbey and Trevor Jarrett and Brook Hoffer; his brother and sister-in-law, Stanley (Janice) Jarrett of Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls on Saturday, July 17th from 10AM until 11AM, where a funeral service will immediately follow, officiated by the Rev. James Fennessy . Interment in St. Columbkille Cemetery in Seneca Falls. Donations in his memory may be made to the Seneca Falls Library, 47 Cayuga Street, Seneca Falls, NY 13148
