Seneca Falls: Roy L. Fowler, age 76, of Seneca Falls, passed away on Monday, August 14th, 2023 at Geneva General Hospital. A private graveside service with military honors was held at New York State Veterans Cemetery - Finger Lakes.
Roy was born in Phelps, NY, the son of the late Howard and Opal (Woodworth) Fowler. He attended local schools and joined the US Navy in 1964, serving proudly for 4 years before being honorably discharged in 1968. After his military service, Roy began his career at Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls where he was a fork lift operator. For years he commuted back and forth from his home in Monterey, NY before finally buying a house in Seneca Falls. It wasn't until Roy had put in over 35 years at Goulds that he decided to retire. He was very much an outdoorsman who would rather be outside experiencing life rather than spending time inside. He especially loved to fish and hunt. Roy also liked to watch WWE wrestling, and always found time to spend with his family. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandkids as he was very much young at heart and it seemed that all kids loved him.
Roy is survived by his wife Louise, whom he married on March 4th, 1995; sons, Robert (Tommy Talbot) Fowler, Timothy Fowler; step-daughters, Janet Librado, Melissa (Eddie) Reyes, Sherry Castillo; 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Fowler who just recently passed on August 16th, 2023; sister, Elsie Van Camp; as well as several nephews and nieces and extended family. In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by his brothers, George, Harry, Jim, and Oakley; sisters, Emma, Cady, Ruth, Mary, and Florence; step-daughter, Robin Copp; first wife and mother to his sons, Beverly Fowler.
